CLERGY
Archpriest John Flora was appointed the Pastor of Saint Michael the Archangel Church following his ordination to the priesthood on April 11, 2004. As an Episcopal Priest, Fr. John served parishes in in New York City, Connecticut, Vermont and Wichita, Kansas.

A native of Pennsylvania, from the age of twelve he grew-up in Connecticut. He holds a BA from Aurora University, and a Master of Divinity from the General Theological Seminary. In 1986 he completed his dissertation, “Pastoral Leadership and Eucharistic Presidency in the Pre-Nicene Church” and was awarded a doctorate from the Virginia Theological Seminary. He also studied at the New School for Social Research in NYC and at Saint George College in
Jerusalem. After serving the parish of Saint Michael for a decade he was elevated to the rank of archpriest by Bishop Basil.

Father John and his Khouria, Marsha were married in 1976. They have three children and five grandchildren.
Priest Basil Anderson is our Associate Priest. As a layman, Fr. Basil was one of the founders of our church and served as its first Parish Council President. Discerning the call to ordination, Fr. Basil entered the St. Stephen’s Course of Orthodox Theology in 2005, graduating in 2008. Fr. Basil was ordained to the Diaconate in 2009 and served St. Michael’s in that capacity until he was elevated to the Priesthood by Bp. BASIL in June of 2022.
Fr. Basil had a long and successful career in the Kansas oil & gas industry, retiring in January 2024. He and Khouria Holly were married in March 1982 and are long-time residents of Wichita. They have two adult children and four grandchildren, all residing in Wichita.
